NEC
Digital Signage Control

NEC was an early pioneer in
communications and has been an industry leader in display technology
for many years as well. The BlueFire® VC Digital Signage Controller
takes advantage of NEC’s expertise in both of these areas. The
BlueFire VC is an IP/Ethernet network addressable device that is
collocated with the display signage such as large Liquid Crystal
Displays (LCDs) and Plasma Display Panels (PDPs). Being LAN
connected enables the BlueFire VC to receive content, scheduling and
other instructions from a central site for controlling and
monitoring multiple individual display systems. Each BlueFire VC has
an 80 GB hard drive for storing multiple messages for playback
according to schedule.
The BlueFire VC’s wireless option
enables the deployment of digital signage in areas that have AC
power access but no networking infrastructure, making it possible to
take advantage of the benefits of digital signage while avoiding a
costly investment in premise re-wiring.
When used with NEC LCDs and PDPs and
NEC BlueFire data networking solutions, a total digital signage
solution can be implemented with the assurance of NEC quality,
performance and reliability throughout. In addition, BlueFire
networking solutions support state-of-the-art encryption and
authentication providing the highest levels of communications security
available.
The BlueFire VC Digital Signage
Controller is built on open standards and supports a wide variety of
other vendors’ PDPs, LCDs and projectors. It is likewise interoperable
with other vendors’ standard Ethernet/IP connectivity products
facilitating integration into a multi-vendor networking environment.
